I imagine myself to be a romantic atheist appreciative of sufi-ism, Christian gnosticism and Russelesque Humanism (somehow Hinduism squeezes in there too ... and is very important to me. Hinduism rocks!)psycotherapy which inevitably leads me back to the wonderful and terrible world of the Ancient Greeks and ancient historians.

The ocean, snorkeling, home brewing, reading...reading, always, in order to understand all of you.

EM Forster, Graham Greene, Melville; everything by Steinbeck, Wallace Stegner, everything by T. Hardy, E. Dickinson blows my socks off.

Illiad, I don't like it at all. It reminds me too much of my childhood.



Odyssey. It blew my mind. Read Fitzgerald's translation of it. My ability to think and write was greatly influenced and encouraged by reading it. I am aware of the world differently by having experienced this fabulous book more than any other in my entire life. It deals with everything of value to the conscious and responsible human, and you can not better the travelogue anywhere..



The periodicals: The New York Review of Books (I wished I'd discovered twenty years ago) and the New Yorker.

1973 movie of Papilion, Sand Pebbles, both have Steve McQueen at his best. What Dreams May Come (Robin Williams), The Seventh Seal .. Bergman, Persona, Pan's Labrynth, The Hunch Back of Notre Dame makes me cry,



But I watch The Daily Show on the Internet religiously. He's a hoot and right on.

I threw my tv away and have not missed it at all. Things of importance I watch on the internet.
