Occupy the Internet
THINQon is a platform for a more intelligent web. It aims to replace the ruling paradigm of the web – that of sharing and gathering information – with a sharing and achieving of understanding. Instead of the Q&A model it offers an experience. A platform for discovery of ideas, people, and yourself.     Continue >

Why do (many) men not like foreplay?
Because many have an enormous fixation on the actual sex (hey college hormones a-ragin'), so they just see foreplay as delaying it, rather than as some leadup which will make the intensity of it any better.
It's also likely a somewhat personal thing, though, beyond what I said above. One should ask if one needs to know, and demand an actual answer as opposed to "ahhh I just don't."
Fine, so they're in a hurry, but then they don't want to cuddle afterwards either. For a group of people who spend such an insane amount of time thinking about sex, it's weird that men arrange things so that the HAVING sex is over with as quickly as possible.

Women may not obsess about sex, but when they do it they expect it to be interesting and take awhile.
Hi all,

I don’t know about men not liking foreplay. Depends on how far back you go - they certainly like the chase. But you might mean when the prey is already in their hands. I’m guessing what you are talking about is the kissing and hugging prior to sex.

I would say it is because there is something very unphysical about it. Women perhaps like it as they like stories, and foreplay is a story of sorts - it frames the sex as part of a story. It is well known that to get women to watch the Olympics they put the emphasis on stories, stories on the sportsmen and sportswomen. The story is what allowed the Olympics to have a female audience, who is more interested in the story than the sports. (I’m OF COURSE, generalizing completely here, but if we are talking about the sexes…). Similarly many people’s entrance to art is through stories about the artists, and here again I think women are the majority.

It is like in a game, a soccer/basketball/football game. Yes, there can be stories before the game, this team has a history with that one, this player with that one, but once the ball gets thrown up in the air that’s it. It’s battle time and no place for stories. Now it’s action time. I think this is how men feel, or many men as you say.
It is interesting to think what would a sport incorporating a story in it look like? Our ideas of sports are masculine. What would be a sport invented by a woman? I mean one invented not as a variation on male sports, but one which would be a new kind of sport.
