British women in the winter
Recently, when I lived in England, I was quite shocked at how British women dress when they go out during the winter. They go out with  very skimpy clothing in the freezing cold. Tiny minis without stockings, short sleeve or no sleeve, and even wearing sandals in the snow.

In other countries I visited women dress much warmer during the winter. Being perhaps more northern, they are more used to the cold, but can it be by that much?
They drink a lot which helps in warming up, but what do they do on the way to the bar?

My question is: Do you think it is their DNA or are they simply willing to suffer more?
Hmmm, I think it has to do with the culture.  You will find that the further north you go, the less clothes they wear.  In Newcastle (near the Scotish border) they are famous for never wearing coats and having on tiny clothes.  I don't get it, but they seem willing to freeze to fit in.  I suppose it could be compared to women who wear stiletos.  They honestly can't be comfortable, but so many women wear them to get the "right" look.
I totally agree with Leslie,
Its the British culture that makes them wear practically nothing when they go out regardless of the weather! What is even worse in my opinion is that some of them dont seem to possess a mirror and still wear tiny mini skirts huge high heeled shoes and tiny tops even though they are overweight and flabby.
Britain is in the grips of a binge drinking culture, where the purpose of going out in many cases (especially the young generation) is too get completely smashed and find a 'sex' for the night. Very sad but very true.

Delightful body policing, Dawn. We simply can't have women showing off their bodies if they don't meet the patriarchal standards, can we?
