Britney Spears' Womanizer - The Body & The Mind
What is the effect of the mind on movement?

I was just watching some Britney Spears' videos on mtv superstar top 10, and what I find quite shocking in her new clip, Womanizer, is how badly she is moving.
She defintely works out a lot. She definitely looks good. She is very much in shape. Why then can't she move?
You see her old videos - she is a dancer and knows how to move, and when you know how to move it is seen everywhere, when she walks just as much as when she dances. The slightest movement is precise (as a dancer not a robot). Whatever people think of her singing, you can't take from her that she knew how to move. So, how does one lose that? She lost her mind, and is now getting to be saner again, but then when she is sane, and in great shape, why is it so much harder to get back the ability to move?

I think by now you understood what I'm getting at. When you are in the gym, to be a good gymnast, what is demanded from the mind?
I couldn't agree with you more regarding the demise of Britney's dance moves.  When she first broke onto the scene and inevitably changed the face of music forever, she was an amazing dancer.  Granted, she was lip-synching while performing but no one could deny her dance skills and the fact that she was talented.  Unfortunately, it seems that she couldn't maintain this throughout her career.  Her very public breakdown has apparently led to the breakdown of her skills as well.  The Womanizer video is a sad display of what she used to be and it's upsetting to witness when you compare it to her earlier work.  In her most recent video Circus, she does dance a bit more and I have to admit, slightly better.   This gives me hope that Britney can one day take us all back to the good old days when she was a great performer.  We'll have to wait and see!
I agree. I think she is definitely improving. I actually even like her last song Circus which is the first one I liked in a while.
Maybe she still can't dance so well, even though she is improving, but notice how her face is starting to get expressions back.
I would add, the body doesn't lie. Whether or not someone is really "there," is really attracted to another person, is really feeling comfortable,...it's amazing to see the physical story told. People can control their speech and to a certain extent, their expressions, but the body finds a way to speak (or to remain mute).
