Coomaraswamy?

I've just been getting into Coomaraswamy. Anyone into this stuff? I tend to agree with whatever I'm reading at the moment, but Coomaraswamy sure takes me back. Fifty years ago we all took it for granted that any artwork worth its salt had some kind of universal connotation. Now -- Coomaraswamy's worst fears being confirmed in the breach, so to speak -- it's all, all "self-expression."

Any thoughts?

Coomarswamy is possibly the best eastern writer that wrote principally in English, he was an eminent scholar and there are a lot of his works that are downloadable at Guttenberg free press.
