How to be a good business person
I’ve noticed that when I go buy something and I am dealing with companies which are too keen to sell me their product, I get turned off. I appreciate an honest approach of a seller who asks whether I’m looking around and checking other companies, and who tells me to take my time and check well, and come back to him if it is what I’m looking for. I had this experience recently and I almost wanted to take his offer immediately, because of his confidence that he has the best offer in town and that I will come back to him. I didn’t take his offer, and went on with my research, which has to do with facts, not just attitudes that convince me more or less. But it made me reflect on the subject.

Why is it that I am turned off by someone showing too much eagerness? Eagerness is a product of engagement, and engagement is good, we are always looking for people who are totally engaged, totally behind what they are doing.

How do you go on convincing people that “you’re the man for this job”. How do you sell (anything) most effectively?
