Keeping house?
How do the rest of you stay up with housecleaning, or in my case, apartment-cleaning?
Do you have a specific routine, or just do things as they arise?
I'm in the market for tips.
Big or little apartment?  I suggest allocate some time (the same block of time) each day, and create a routine so you cover the essentials without obsessiveness.  It's always good to be able to put your hands on things you need, when you need them, to be moderately organised.  This is from the perspective of one who advises, for this particular topic, do what I say, not what I do.

Not too big. In this matter I, like you, am an excellent advisor but can think of a million better ways to spend my time than cleaning the bathtub.

I have the sneaking suspicion that like anything else done well it requires a certain amount of one's brain sublimated to constantly deal with small relevant tasks and monitor everything -- o don't mind me I shall just wipe down this counter as we chat it's looking a bit dusty...
Not sure I'm interested in that kind of allocation. I'm obsessive enough about cleanliness without bringing in neatness.
I say this, and I lament my dusty windowsills.
My good wife says she switches off all her problems when she is busy tidying up.  I suppose it is also a question of what you are used to.  Good habits can be created and, I suppose, maintained, from a degree of diligence.  In my bachelor days,  in the kitchen, for example, I ate simple  meals, often repeated (but not fast foods), used few utensils and so on.  I generally tried to keep my life as simple as possible so maintenance was also pretty easy.
