Musing on Political Parties-Libertarianism
I'm going to do a little thinking out loud about Libertarianism.  We've discussed it here before post  and at that time those of us in the thread couldn't figure out how to implement such an ideology--it's all over the place.  But so are the other political parties.  As stated previously post  each and every individual seems to carry their own unique political theory/belief system under their skin and even in that personal space politics and beliefs expand or contract in response to the headlines of the day and the balance in the bank.

To begin to parse out the attraction of Libertarianism, which is the third largest political party in the States, maybe we should decide what it is that most humans want after their need for food, clothing and shelter is met and how that desire would be fulfilled by the Libertarian (or any other) Party.

What do people want?  Security.  People want to know that they and their interests will be protected.

What else?
Libertarians and economics:
How would it work?  It's not hard to figure out if you work  &  shop small and close to home but what if you're employed by some octopus-like corporation that has multinational tentacles?
Here's an article about the recession and unemployment in the USA.  What's the libertarian thinking on this?

Here's a thread about policy issues in the 21st century  post

Let's discuss--with a libertarian bent--we've got to study it to fully understand it.

This from Libertarianism.com:

What is libertarianism? Libertarianism is, as the name implies, the belief in liberty. Libertarians strive for a free, peaceful, abundant world where each individual has the maximum opportunity to pursue his or her dreams and to realize his full potential.

The core idea is simply stated, but profound and far-reaching in its implications. Libertarians believe that each person owns his own life and property, and has the right to make his own choices as to how he lives his life – as long as he simply respects the same right of others to do the same.

Another way of saying this is that libertarians believe you should be free to do as you choose with your own life and property, as long as you don't harm the person and property of others.

Libertarianism is thus the combination of liberty (the freedom to live your life in any peaceful way you choose), responsibility (the prohibition against the use of force against others, except in defense), and tolerance (honoring and respecting the peaceful choices of others).

Liberty is one of the central lessons of world history. Virtually all the progress the human race has enjoyed during the past few centuries is due to the increasing acceptance of free markets, civil liberties, and self-ownership.

Our goal as libertarians is to bring liberty to the world, so that these wonderful and proven ideas can be put into action. This will make our world a far better place for all people.

"Actually, true conservatives tend to be libertarian on economic issues, and true liberals tend to be libertarian on social issues," says Sharon Harris, president of the Advocates for Self-Government. "The consistency is to the extent to which one believes in individual liberty. This is what I call the Libertarian Denominator."

Unfortunately, many of today's liberals and conservatives have rejected America's heritage of liberty and personal responsibility. They want to put us all in their straitjacket. Americans built a great country without shackles. It's time to take them off again. Break free of the useless left right spectrum. Think freedom on all issues. Think libertarian.
