Travel General Portland and My Giant-Ass Mug
THINQon is a platform for a more intelligent web. It aims to replace the ruling paradigm of the web – that of sharing and gathering information – with a sharing and achieving of understanding. Portland and My Giant-Ass Mug
Last week i went to Portland and i bought a giant-ass mug. I also bought a zillion books and cds, a porcelain clown to add to my collection (yeah i know, super creepy, but i figure everyone's allowed one super creepy hobby and i like how colorful they are), and the cutest pair of socks with green umbrellas that say "I've been Oregonized" on them.

I love Portland. I LOVE Portland. Some say love at first sight is a myth, I among them. But damn me if I didn't fall head over heels for this place 30 min. into my 6 day trip.

I never thought i'd be one of those people who falls in love with a city, but I've even changed my college plans because i love this place so much. I read somewhere that Portland is one of America's best-kept secrets. This seems true because i never heard a damn thing about the place until i visited.

My objective for this post is to inform the thinqon world of my new found love, and to entice any feedback you might have on the fine city (and by the way, I did not post this to begin a debate, if you happen to be one of the eight people who don't like Portland, I really don't care and neither does anyone else. Wow, that sounds super-bitchy, anyway back to what i was saying). If you've ever been to Portland, please!! tell me absolutely everything you did, did not do, bought, saw, and experienced.
There are some places that I would have loved to live in and Portland OR is one of them.  I'm not too awfully far away from it and whenever I've been there I've had an excellent time.

I love driving the fantastic highways that go over the city.  It's a magic carpet ride.
Especially at night.

And the Oregon coast.  Did you go there?  It's an hour away and breath-taking by any standard.

I hear from a reliable source however that there is some difficulty with the police department.
I had official trip to Portland,OR for couple of weeks and then we left for Si valley,CA. I must say it's one of the greenest city i have visited like Austin,TX. I enjoyed Portland weather, authentic north Indian food at couple of restaurants, city hall, light train ride etc..  I did enjoy driving in Portland. Most of the time we were in office and one of the international standardization body's office in testing our next product. We visited few places in down town, city hall etc.We dint have chance to see the city much, but i did enjoy my brief stay.If i am allowed to choose the best city, SF is by far the best city i have ever visited.
