Occupy the Internet
THINQon is a platform for a more intelligent web. It aims to replace the ruling paradigm of the web – that of sharing and gathering information – with a sharing and achieving of understanding. Instead of the Q&A model it offers an experience. A platform for discovery of ideas, people, and yourself.     Continue >
Watchmen - Chapters 10-12
As the plot is moving along I decided to put these chapters together.

Chapter 10:  Two riders were approaching...

10-5-6 “Some of us have always lived on the edge Daniel. It is possible to surive there if you observe rules: Just hang on by fingernails…and never look down.”

10-22-5 “Whatever precise nature of this conspiracy Adrian veidt responsible. Have done best to make this legible. Believe it paints disturbing picture.”

He tries to make the Rorschach picture legible. He sees, he reads, a disturbing picture.

Chapter 11: Look on My works, Ye Mighty...

The chapter is about whiteness. An opposition in a sense of chapter 9. We see it in the first image, and we see it in the last. The main seen takes place in Antarctica.

11-1 The voice of Ozymandias. It is nice how people here really have their unqiue style, and worldview.

11-4-5 Note the tape recorder tapes holes reminds one of the atomic bomb symbol.

11-8-3 Ozymandias “Perhaps I decided to be intelligent rather than otherwise?”

This is the opinion of several amazingly brilliant people I know. That it was simply a decision to become that, one even felt rather stupid before hand.

11-9 The breakup: It’s always funny how relationship stuff happens whatever the outside world is. No matter the disasters, a minute before world extinction, people will still argue about their relationship.

They are lesbians: Is gayness a topic for the book? Or, does the book simply care to show it as something completely ordinary, which is still a statement in the 80s. That is, does this question relate to other issues the book is thinking about?

11-9-9 From the black freighter story”“How had I reached this appalling position with love, only love, as my guide”

As we know it mirrors (perhaps I should say foils)  we know something bad is about to be done by Ozymandias.

11-12-4  Uniting the split worlds. Opening the knot. Some knots (world conflict and impending world war anyone?) have to be cut in order to be resolved.

11-19-5 “And opened my eyes. only the best comedians accomplish that.” The comedian is the person opening your eyes to life’s black comedy. (A discussion on The tragic comedians)

11-22-1 Ozymandias: “War aside, atomic deadlock guided us downhill towards environmental ruin”

Won’t it be the same now  with Iran and north korea?

11-26-2 Ozymandias speaking precisely as the person in the black freighter story.

End of picture part

From interview with Ozymandias: “I don’t mind being the smartest man in the world. I just wish it wasn’t this one.” – I hear you man, I hear you.

Hanna Clapson qoutes from Percy Shelley poem Ozymandias:

"My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:
Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!"
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare,
The lone and level sands stretch far away.

Chapter 12: A stronger loving world

The book ends very differently from the movie. I like both, but they are very different.  It is perhaps a more sober ending here. Ozymandias hope for a change in humanity won't happen. It makes sense that they dropped the black freighter story from the movie as it doesn't fit the movie's plot anymore. Here, Ozymandias turns out to be like the person in the story, a madman wanting to save the world, but who brings about death. The movie is very different.
