The Chamber of Politics General We are ruled by madmen
THINQon is a platform for a more intelligent web. It aims to replace the ruling paradigm of the web – that of sharing and gathering information – with a sharing and achieving of understanding. Instead of the Q&A model it offers an experience. A platform for discovery of ideas, people, and yourself.     Continue >
We are ruled by madmen
All over the world the madmen have taken over.
In Israel we have a government which is completely insane, though not that much crazier than the previous one. Academia and the court systems are under constant attack for many years now as the government wants to essentially destroy them (the fact that a significant percentage of the previous government have either already been found guilty or will be found guilty of different crimes is incidental I'm sure.)
In France there is Sarkozy and his government, with similar attacks on Academia (post).
In the US they had Bush, for 8 years!
I won't go into Venezuala and other such regimes.
There is now Obama in the US, but besides being a huge hope for the rest of the world, it is not clear if he's doing anything good for the US (for example post), nor did he do anything good for the world so far.

I mentioned the attacks on the system in Israel and France, but they are also going on elsewhere. The attacks always take the same form: The system is broken and needs to be fixed. It can't be left in its current state. They then show a huge rush to fix it immediately. Now people know that the systems are broken, that's true. And like that many people support the government action. What people fail to recognize is that there is a single point to this action - a destruction of those systems. They are against them. Against the justice system and against Academia.
Why do smart people still support them? Why are they so easily duped. It is not that those systems don't need fixing, but you don't let a cat fix the birdcage.
Everybody knows their aims, and yet they still buy into their supposed pretext of how what they do fixes things. It's never really clear how much destruction their deeds will have. All they are demanding is to let in political figures into the control of those systems. It's a small request, but it is really to enter a cyanide pill into the body. The politicians will later move to destroy the system from within. They know that, everybody with half a brain could see that these people don't mean to really improve the system. But still, many people buy into their arguments because the system is broken. It is sick.
It's sick and it needs to swallow something, and somehow they convince the people not to look at what they are swallowing as they have to eat. They have to eat now, and it can't wait to think about it and look at what they are eating and what they should eat. At that point they are given the cyanide pill.
The structure is the same everywhere, and still people are duped.

But how did we get to such a state? It is us who are electing these people. They are not dictators, but are chosen by the people. What has changed in the world to bring this about?
The state of the world, and especially here at home, is inherently corrupt. Those in power strive for more power and power is allotted to said person or persons with the most money. This is an extremely oversimplified statement that needs to be explained word for word. Starting with the last, "money", and making our way towards "power". First, money is what fuels our god-like economy (just watch the news, the stock market is to be feared and worshipped). And the economy of the age is capitalism; the system in which all are free to do what they wish with what they have in their pockets. Turns out though, the average American has no control over his or her money anymore because of credit debt. They were slyly enticed into getting a credit card or taking out massive student loans because without credit these people would not be able to survive. Just think of how shitty life would be if you didn't have a car or a BA. I'm being sarcastic of course. But this is the mentality of the masses. They MUST own a car, and they MUST get a college education. It would be a pretty sweet world if everyone got a college education. I mean, the ideas and conversations floating around would be indescribably awesome. However, that is a tangential thought when we look at the state of the US right now. Americans have become so indebted that they have no means of achieving any kind of progression in their lives because they can't take the financial risk of say, hopping on a plane and relocating to New Zealand. They are STUCK in their jobs out of fear. Fear that more bills will come in the mail that they cannot afford to pay because the interest has shot up to 28%. Fear that at any moment they will lose their jobs. Fear that they might get sick or have an accident and will have to decide if its more affordable to lose one eye, even though the doctor could save both. Average American citizens are the modern-day fear-induced wage slaves. They have absolutely no control. But do they?

That brings me to the next part of the oversimplified aforementioned statement; person or persons with money. I only have to mention that those in power (that 1% of the world population, that is basically in control of EVERYTHING, new world order status) are the directors of the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, and the Federal Reserve. This holy trinity of masked evil, or axis of evil (heh), basically runs our wage-slave world. And lets not forget the always elusive Bilderburger group. These groups of people are the wealthy masterminds of the day to day. They control what media we are exposed to, what kind of food we eat, the energy that we can use, etc. The money that they have accumulated over the past 30 or so years, since Regan era, has come from their wonderful adventures in destroying other countries to make it appear as if our country was booming economically. So, the US government, under orders from the deathstar holy trinity, raped and pillaged nations all across the globe to gain control of their resources (banana republics really got the short end of the stick, and that's why we have presidents like Hugo Chavez of Venezuela and other Latin American nations denouncing the US). Over these thirty years, the axis of evil accumulated a sick amount of wealth by way of their privately owned corporations setting up shop in foreign nations. These people sound pretty powerful. But it's really the silent American public that is making them powerful.

Americans need to stop putting up with this shit. I'm almost positive that this computer is going to be targeted because they are so many key words that go against the very world order that these crazies are trying to make happen. They want complete world domination. And they will achieve that if people don't wake up and protest this plutocratic society. We are no longer living under the umbrella of capitalism. We, the so called peasants, are living under the watchful of eye of big brother, the death star, the holy trinity, or whatever you want to call it. Unless we stop this madness, our world forever be in the hands of the wealthy lunatics. Money does not bring happiness. Thus, one could argue that these wealthy s.o.b's are the farthest from happiness. So what does that mean for us all? Those in power don't care about us because they are unhappy money gobbling drones. Additionally, the grand majority our elected officials are blinded to our needs because they cater only to the CEOs of blue chip companies, which are controlled by the deathstar.

So how do we bring them down? revolution.
and here's a fun movie to watch that delineates the major issues:

You had me 100% right up until the implication that being under "the umbrella of capitalism" is a better thing. Capitalism is what brought us here. It is inherently disempowering, because the phenomenon of technology and capital turns humans into machines, controls them, becomes their god, replaces life with nonlife, and is thus autonomous in its own momentum.

Also, you lost me with Zeitgeist. I've watched that movie - actually had a bit of an obsession with it several years ago for a couple months. It was a great eye-opener, a beginning - but that's all it is: a beginning, to a path which leads one to question everything with great concern. Even the movie itself, which is full of holes. So, I see it as an instrumental, useful device whose purpose serves to open one's inquiry to the state of the world and question fundamental assumptions. But it's by no means reference material after such an enlightened post as yours, I think.

This inherently unsustainable death project Leviathan we're enslaved to called "civilization", the all-encompassing pantheon of mass religion, the State, capital, technology, and science, has been domesticating and controlling life, humans included, and wrecking our biosphere for the past 10,000 years.
Jonathan,
We have lost our sense of balance.  We have lost the sense of our spirit that holds us together.  Money is now our god and we believe in this god for we must eat and pay our bills.  Money is a hollow god with no substance and no balance.  The more you get the more you need and want.  Jesus tried to tell us, but he was scorned and spat upon.  They had already made money their god as they brought  their banking into their Temple.  They killed him for he was on to something truthful.  He spoke of love, and they thought he was crazy, for love can not fill one's belly, or so it seems.  On and on it goes with many wise men and no viable solutions.   We have the knowledge, but without balance we can not put that knowledge to good use.

It has always been this way.  This is nothing new, the only thing that is new is your perception of it.  The older you get the wiser you become and you start to see the world in a different light.  You then get old and cynical and die.  And here comes the new generation with wide eyes and bushy tails.

Mithuna,

They can only be brought down with a spiritual awakening, for revolution always goes back to the comfort zone.  The same comfort zone that we were experiencing a couple of years ago.  My belief is this, it will take evolution with a spiritual awakening to allow this beast to fly with the Gods.  Until then we are left with the Zeitgeist Movie and no solutions.
